Reconstructive Surgery

Trauma Reconstruction

Here are just a few cases demonstrating the role that plastic surgery plays in dealing with complex injuries. Although, most people think of plastic surgery with injuries to the face, our role is not limited to the face. Most areas on the body may need plastic surgery skills. As with most reconstructive surgery, our goal is to re-establish function of the "body part" which usually follows that of the form. Again Quoting a famous plastic surgeon from the sixteenth century:

“We restore, rebuild, and make whole those parts which nature hath given, but which fortune has taken away. Not so much that it may delight the eye, but that it might buoy up the spirit, and help the mind of the afflicted.” G. Tagliacozzi
